Fitness Girl – The Project
The Fitness Girl is NOT a contest of Beauty or Bodybuilding. The purpose of the contest is to mobilize more women around the world in the fight against inactivity, encouraging more people to train, retrain their food and have better quality of life.
The Project Fitness Girl is, before anything, a motivational project. But the “motivation comes from within, is from each person” – some would say. This is true. The motivation part of each person from inside. However, stimulation and inspiration to awaken this “motivation” is external. With viewing photos and videos of people who achieved their goals, more and more people will be motivated to also reach theirs.
Mechanisms will be used to assess the vote, seeking to avoid any kind of fraud and vote buying and so on. Audits will occur in cases of suspected fraud.
Why vote online?
Because it is a fair selection that meets the desire of the majority of the public, removing subjectivity of charge or any other form of processing.
How many will be selected?
Initially, 10+ best voted will be the first 10 Fitness Girls (1 per month).
What is the amplitude of the contest?
The Fitness Girl Contest is an international competition and will feature the participation of athletes and fitness athletes from various countries.
The contest is not intended for ONLY the athletes, bodybuilders or fitness fans. Any woman, aged 18 years or above (or corresponding age of majority in her country) may participate.
It is important to mention that we will not accept any type of discrimination, whether of color, race, religion or similar.
Purpose of the Contest:
The contest is not intended to select the most beautiful woman (and therefore is not a Beauty Contest) or the woman who has the most perfect body (and therefore is not a championship fitness/bodybuilding). The main goal of the contest is to promote the practice of regular exercise and thereby reduce the sedentary population in the world.
Who are the main beneficiaries of this competition?
The main beneficiaries will be people who are sedentary, but to participate in the Contest or by seeing a colleague to participate, leave the sedentary lifestyle and start to enjoy some regular exercise.
Furthermore, photographic essays will stimulate alone, a practice of a healthy life.
In these individuals, sports companies in the industry as manufacturers of sports equipment, sportswear and gym, tennis shoes, gym, manufacturers of dietary supplements, physical education teachers, sports nutritionists, physiotherapists, sports physicians, among many other professionals are benefited directly or indirectly with the increase of public practitioners some kind of sport.
The governments also benefit from a healthier population, generating less cost medical treatment.
Of Photographic Essays
The tests will involve physical exercise, promoting the idea of health, contrary to what occurs with some other famous trials in which the models pose smoking or ingesting alcoholic beverages.
The American Heart Association Guidelines, updated in January 19, 2011, bring suggestions Physical Activity for a healthy life:
“We suggest at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise (or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity). 30 minutes a day, five times a week is an easy goal to remember, however you will also experience benefits even if you divide your time into two or three segments of 10 -15 minutes per day.
Physical activity is anything that makes you move your body and burn calories, such as climbing stairs or playing sports. Aerobic exercises benefit your heart, such as walking, jogging, swimming or biking. Strength and stretching exercises are best for overall stamina and flexibility.
The simplest, positive change you can make to effectively improve your heart health is to start walking. It’s enjoyable, free, easy, social and great exercise. A walking program is flexible and boasts high success rates because people can stick with it. It’s easy for walking to become a regular and satisfying part of life.”
And further, too, the American Heart Association:
“Physical activity improves physical wellness.
It enhances your immune system and decreases the risk of developing diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
Reduced risk factors
Becoming more active can lower your blood pressure by as much as 4 to 9 mm Hg. That’s the same reduction in blood pressure delivered by some antihypertensive medications. Physical activity can also boost your levels of good cholesterol.
Physical activity prolongs your optimal health.
Without regular physical activity, the body slowly loses its strength, stamina and ability to function well. And for each hour of regular exercise you get, you’ll gain about two hours of additional life expectancy, even if you don’t start until middle age. Moderate exercise, such as brisk walking, for as little as 30 minutes a day has the proven health benefits listed above as well as:
Improves blood circulation, which reduces the risk of heart disease
Keeps weight under control
Helps in the battle to quit smoking
Improves blood cholesterol levels
Prevents and manages high blood pressure
Prevents bone loss
Boosts energy level
Helps manage stress
Promotes enthusiasm and optimism
Counters anxiety and depression
Helps you fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly
Increases muscle strength, increasing the ability to do other physical activities
Provides a way to share an activity with family and friends
Reduces coronary heart disease in women by 30-40 percent
Reduces risk of stroke by 20 percent in moderately active people and by 27 percent in highly active ones
Establishes good heart-healthy habits in children and counters the conditions (obesity, high blood pressure, poor cholesterol levels, poor lifestyle habits, etc.) that lead to heart attack and stroke later in life
Helps delay or prevent chronic illnesses and diseases associated with aging and maintains quality of life and independence longer for seniors.”
That is, there are many reasons to justify our struggle for more and more people to leave the sedentary lifestyle. Having a small group with sculptural bodies is very cool. Having a legion of people practicing regular physical exercise is something phenomenal.
Campaigns focused on women’s health
The American Heart Association launched in February 2012 the campaign “Go Red for Women”. Probably as a way to use a strategy similar to the campaigns of Breast Cancer in Women who used the color Pink.
The image below shows a clear concern about the leading cause of death in women: Heart Disease. And warning:
“The facts are clear. More women die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined. Discover the truth and make the end of heart disease a reality.”
Societies and Distorted Values
We are in a World Society which has lost many good values. Among them, a proper concern with the Health stressful routines have made people forget themselves and their families and when they realize, it’s too late. Some habits should be revised. For example: TV and Internet can be great sources of information and entertainment. But if not dosed, can be a great excuse to delay the start of training and thereby keep the damage that can cause a sedentary life.
Fitness Girl and Famous
Fortunately, many famous women understood the project and seek with their participation, encourage more people to participate.
We note that some still not understood very well the idea. They have doubt as to participate in a contest with no height restriction or mass (weight) in all athletes (all categories) and non-athletes compete in the world and have the people to be responsible for choosing the winners. Direct democracy, we would say.
For those who still have doubts whether they should participate, you can justify their holdings with the aim of encouraging more people to follow suit and adhere to your sport or training routine.
Being a reference in a sport already is, in itself an incentive to continue training. Be a reference and know that is inspiring thousands to follow in her footsteps is something rewarding for any human being.
The Fitness Girl and You
The Fitness Girl is in its Call one way to encourage more and more women to start a healthy life. Most people who participate in the Contest will not win it. Likewise, most people who participate in a marathon, not participating in order to win it. The point is that participation itself is a way of ending a period of inactivity and a stimulus to reach new goals. As a reward, the participant will have their photos on the pages linked from Facebook, Orkut and Google +, and notes published on our Twitter. If she does become famous, at least she’ll be healthier.
The Fitness Girl and Men
Yes, men. On our Facebook page, men are still the most followers. The forward edge is small, but shows that the men involved, and also suffer encouragement and inspiration to see the dedication of women to training. And part of the posts with comments, shares, and likes.
A man, seeing a woman training, not to be outdone, right? Heheheeh. In the world who still live, a woman pick up more weight than a man in training is a source of shame for most of them. GREAT! Nothing like a contest to stimulate. Let’s get up from the chair and everything for the training! And who wins the best: HEALTH!
A call to Healthcare Professionals
You, the health professional (doctor, personal trainer, nutritionist, physiotherapist, psychologist, etc.), by legal duty and obedience to his oath of office, has great reason to participate and encourage your patients to participate in this project.
A call to tech entrepreneurs Fitness, Sports and Nutrition
Gym owners want more people taking their academies. The shopkeepers of supplements, most people buying supplements. The sporting goods, more people buying shoes, clothes and sports acessories. Manufacturers want to always sell more. The question is, what you all have done to encourage more people to leave the inertia of inactivity? To you be more consumers. Rather than just “fight” for existing customers, why not increase the consumer base?
If you are unable to help the project financially, help, at least, SUPPORTING. At least helping in dissemination. At the end, more people will resort to its products and the Professional Area suggesting that their products end up. Therefore, there is nothing to lose. Infect more people and be remembered.
